Honestly, I don't mean to touch on this issue so openly as it might be abit of a sensitive issue for some(or not, i don't really know). However, I feel a sense of obligation to remind everyone not to take food for granted. especially my friends abroad, or those who are going abroad.
well first and foremost, it is forbidden for muslims(you know who you are) to eat pork and believe me, it's not for no good reason. No matter how profane you are when it comes to religion, there are some things that are best followed.
I read this in a book by Harun Yahya. he's a true genius. So ima simplify things for you.
Hygiene(THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR OF ALL):
This issue persists till today. No matter how clean the farms and environments on which it is raised may be, the pig is not by nature a clean-living animal. It often plays in and even eats its own excrement . Due to this and its biological structure, the pig produces much higher levels of antibodies than other animals. haiyahhhh, I'm sorry, but I hafta express how derangedly grossed out I am by this thought.
Growth Hormones:
Pigs also produce far higher levels of growth hormone than other animals. The meat also contains high levels of cholesterol and lipids.
Conclusion:
Well basically, those things i just said up there(hormones, antibodies, lipid and cholesterol) contributes to extraordinary obesity. countries like USA and Germany, where pork meat is consumed largely, is known to host the existence of above-average numbers of obese individuals. When exposed to excessive growth hormones as a result of pork-based diet, the human body first put on excessive weight and then suffers physical deformations.
Now, I'm not saying that being fat is caused by entirely by pork. There is a fine line between obese and extra baby fats you still bring around even when you're 24. Skinny or slim is not neccesarily healthy and chubbyness is not neccessarily ugly(something alot of teens fail to see these days). Obese is when you are so overweight that you've crossed the health line appropriate for your age. To me, it's not your size that people frown at, it's the way you take care of your health that triggers criticism.
Lastly, Trichina Worm.
It is frequently found in pork and when it enters the human body, it settles directly in the muscles of the heart and represents a possibly fatal threat. this may risk infections by trichina and possible death to those who consume it.
Despite all the precautionary measures and inspections that take place in modern-day pig rearing, the fact that pork is physiologically incompatible with the human body and is a variety of meat harmful to human health has not altered.
So guys, settle for a lebanese kebab rather than eating McDonald's cheeseburger in London. Don't satisfy your cravings just because you feel you can(whether muslim or not). Don't take food like fish and vegetables for granted, question how they were cooked. if you think this is too much trouble, then i can't help you. You can always have it the easy way, but not without a cost.
